Vanilla ice cream with edible flowers

marigold

Turn any tasty dish into a culinary masterpiece, full of color by adding beautiful flowers on top.

Beyond the beauty, our edible flowers can be used as flavor components in your dishes and each flower adds a subtle nuance to the bite. We produce a year-round edible flower selection complementing dishes throughout the seasons.

Our most common flowers during the warmer months are Marigolds (light citrus scent with a minty taste, and it’s also good to note that one would not want to eat the green portion of those flowers even though they are commonly served whole in cocktails.) Marigolds are eaten as petals or leaves, raw or blanched, fresh or dry, sweet or savory.

Another common flower we produce are roses (sweet, floral taste) . We also supplement our mixes with various edible flowers such as mint, rue (licorice-esque flavor), dianthus (honeysuckle flavor), begonias (bright, citrus taste), society garlic, etc. In the colder months, we sell pansies and violas (sweet, light mint flavor).

Edible flowers were especially popular during the Victorian Era where they were commonly used for additional seasoning and garnish. Today, edible flowers are back and elevating party planning, drink styling and all kinds of dishes with new flavors, vibrant colors and natural details.

Another favorite are Pansies. They come in different colors, single and combinations. Pansies can be used for hors d’oeuvres or for decorating cakes and desserts.

Are you ready to start adding flowers to your cooking? Whether sprinkled in a salad, candied on a birthday treat or incorporated into a cocktail, edible flowers can be used in a variety of ways.
